Information – Questions and Answers: Here is some information that will help concerning the Ferndown 5K and 10K Annual Charity Run:

Q: What is the date and start time of next year’s race?
A: The annual 5K and 10K run next year will take place on Saturday, 20th June 2020 and will start at 11 AM

Q: Where does the race take place?
A: The start and finish of the Ferndown 5K and 10K race is on the Ferndown King George V playing fields BH22 9EN. The start is at the main entrance on Peter Grant Way. The finish is at the exit of the Ferndown King George V playing fields adjacent to the Ferndown Leisure Centre.

Q: What type of course is it?
A: The Ferndown 5K and the two laps 10K course is a flat, classed as multi-terrain taking in the roads of Ferndown and crossing Ferndown common.

Q: Are there changing facilities/baggage drop?
A: There is an unsecured baggage drop available in the playing field pavilion

Q: Is car parking is free?
A: There is free car parking at the Leisure Centre adjacent to the playing fields and at the town centre Tesco car park

Q: Are dogs allowed at UKA races?
A: Please note that dogs are not allowed at UKA races

Q: Are the runners allowed headphones or ear pieces?
A: Runners wearing headphones or earpieces will be disqualified under UKA race rules

Q: Are there Prizes or Trophies?
A: Trophies will be handed out at the finish line for the first three male and females across the line in both the 5K and 10K run (12 trophies). To facilitate trophy presentation and to allow photographs to be taken the recipients are asked to remain at the finishing line for a short time

Q: What about Medals?
A: There will be a medal presented to all that finish the 5K or the 10K run

Q: Race limit?
A: There is a limit of 250 runners

Q: Age limit?
A: The 10K run has a minimum age limit of 16 and the 5K a minimum age of 14.

Q: Are there water stations?
A: There are three water stations, one located at the entrance to Ferndown Common, the next at the exit from Ferndown Common and one at the finishing line.
